DESCRIPTION:Hello MACHW Family\, \nWe understand how much stress\, sadness\, and disbelief you might be feeling at this time\, as programs you relied on to help clients are slashed\, families are deported\, and government institutions try hard to hijack our identities. We see you. \nThere is nothing more fulfilling for Community Health Workers than seeing our clients thrive. This is especially true when knowing that our work contributed to their success. As your professional association\, MACHW‘s work is about supporting you as you do the demanding work of lifting individuals and families in need. \nMany of us are searching for ways to continue to help our clients in the midst of this chaos. \nAs a way to assist you to process and strategize ways to continue to do your work\, we are launching a new initiative: the Affirmative Listening Sessions. There will be 6 monthly sessions\, starting on February 28th. The sessions will be one hour and provide a safe space to voice your concerns\, strategize with other CHWs about strategies to cope with our own and our clients’ fears and anxiety\, and to identify resources needed to equip CHWs to serve clients in the midst of the unpredictability of the political environment.
