Register for CHW Day 2012!

Over 115 community health workers (CHWs) and supporters from across the Commonwealth rallied at the State House on March 16, 2011 to urge the Legislature to restore funding for community based health programs, making this rally the biggest in MACHW's history.

 

During the rally, the following individuals spoke in support of community based health programs and community health workers: Representative Gloria Fox, Vice Chair, Joint Committee on Housing, and legislative champion of “An Act to Establish a Board of Certification for Community Health Workers,” which passed last legislative session; Robert J. Master, MD, President and CEO of Commonwealth Care Alliance; Debra Groomes, Pink and Black Ambassador, Boston; Senator Harriette Chandler, Vice Chair, Joint Committee on Public Health; and Lisa Renee Holderby Fox, Executive Director, MA Association of Community Health Workers.
